Silk Mounting on rice paper (Wet Paste Mounting)
Most collectable Asian art are painted on rice paper. The rice paper becomes naturally wrinkled after the artist has created the work, so wet paste mounting is required to restore the artist’s original vision and spirit. Wet paste mounting with silk border and scroll mounting are traditional techniques that are very difficult and painstaking to do, so most framing shops simply do not offer this option. Many of these shops will suggest dry mounting the rice paper or other nontraditional technique, but you should beware that this will probably permanently damage your valuable work of art.
Frameless Mounting offers a beautiful, low cost alternative to full custom framing. The end result is a laminate product that can be braced to make your artwork appear to float on the wall, leaving a clean and modern look. We offer a variety of colors to select from. Prints can be printed and laminated on MDF or on aluminum substrates.
